The Zaragosa Inn is a hidden jewel for the odd traveler that has a lot of time on his hands and wants to hang his hat and relax for a month or two.
I stumbled across this place when riding my motorbike down to Long Beach near San Vicente.
I as was surprised to se an American guy living there as he was to see me.
He had been there for a couple of months and rented out the whole place for 300 dollars a month.
There are two small cottages and a bigger house with two units under the same roof with a kitchen between them.
He had two motorcycles so he and his son could cruise the beach together.
That Long Beach is 14 kilometers of pure clean sand and you can walk for hours along the shore.
The locals even use that beach as a road.
San Vicente is a 45 minute boat ride to Port Barton and maybe 2 hours by road because you have to take the long way around.
In the old days there was a logging trail that connected the two but it is so has deteriorated to the point where it is no longer passable.
I did give it a go but had to turn back.
The local school kids will not even use it as a walking trail when going from Port Barton to San Vicente.
Walter of the Evergreen tells me they follow the coast instead because it’s easier.
