Villa Evergreen

The Villa Evergreen Restaurant has good food at a good price. It is kitty corner to Judy’s Resto Bar but has a quieter setting. They seem to get a steady flow of customers.

I only ate there one time and Lita did a good job on the chicken.

Her husband Walter was involved with scuba diving but has moved on to other projects and is in the process of building a new home on the hill overlooking the bay.

Their sari sari store facing the street has supplies and also sells loads for cell phones.

I found the resort restaurants in Port Barton to be a bit dear or mahal (expensive).

Sometimes it is convenient to eat at local carinderias but there doesn’t seem to be very many of them in this town.

Port Barton is a great place to just chill on the beach or relax in one of the resorts on the waterfront after a day spent island hopping.

There is a jeepney service to Puerto Princessa for 250 pesos and you can hire a boat to San Vicente, a seaside village further up the coast going north.

You can also walk to Pamuayan Falls about 3 to 4 kilometers on the old logging road towards San Vicente. Just cross the river and follow the trail to the left.
